Feature Announcement: Landed Costs on Purchase Orders
Starting today, all users will be able to see Landed Costs on their Purchase Orders.
Purchase orders have always made it possible for you to understand the cost-per-unit that you’ve negotiated with your manufacturer. But, the complexities of those purchase orders being split across multiple freight shipments and differences in weight calculations mean that it’s nearly impossible to have a clear understanding of the landed cost per unit for your purchase order. (Unless you’re buried in a mess of spreadsheets.)
These complexities used to be a major problem…until today.
How it works
For inbound shipments via UPS, USPS, DHL, and FedEx, you can navigate to the relevant purchase order and add a new shipment. Select the carrier, enter the cost and tracking information for the shipment, and the method you’d like to see the costs allocated– by value, item count, or weight.
Add Freight Shipments to a Purchase Order. Landed Costs per Unit are displayed by each line item.
We will validate the shipment information you’ve provided with the carrier. If there are any concerns, such as a tracking number we can’t find, or cost information that isn’t reconciling, we will surface that to you as an exception. With valid data, we will also surface the tracking for you on the Shipments tracking page.
You can view all freight shipments on the Shipments page.
For inbound shipments using a major freight forwarder, like C. H. Robinson or Flexport, reach out to your account manager in Slack who can help you set up the direct integration in-app.
